Johannes Gutenberg

Johannes Gutenberg (c. 1398 - 3 February 1468) was a German blacksmith inventor of movable type in Europe (circa 1450). His best work was the Bible of 42 lines.
Thus passed the first thirty years of his life, until 1428, when Mainz, Rhineland like other cities, began to suffer the terrible consequences of a violent social and political unrest between warring communities, and the imposition of the party of the unionists to the patricians, which belonged Gutenberg, he had to flee their hometown. Nothing is known of him for four years. However, the archives of the city of Strasbourg confirm their presence there from 1434.
